About the Project

Collective Memory is a portrait of everyone and no one. When you sat down, your face was aligned and averaged into a single composite that accumulated over the course of the event. Each person shifted the image, but no single person defined it. There was no selection, no curation, no hierarchy. The process was mechanical and equal. What emerged was the sum of who was in the room.
