PxlDay Support

PxlDay is a camera for a daily art practice. It saves one photograph per day, with a camera resolution that increases as you continue. You can keep private notes, look back through your photographs, and export them as PNG or JPEG.

How the daily camera works

The first photograph contains a single pixel. Each photograph you keep adds one pixel to the next camera day. Saved photographs remain at their original resolution. You can retake a photograph until you choose Keep; after that, the camera is complete until the next local calendar day.

If you miss a day, the camera continues from the same resolution when you return.

Quick help

The camera is unavailable

Open iPhone Settings → Apps → PxlDay → Camera and allow camera access. Then reopen PxlDay.

My journey is not syncing

Confirm that the iPhone is signed into iCloud and has a network connection. Keep PxlDay installed, reopen it on each device, and allow time for iCloud to finish syncing. Do not delete the app from the device holding the most complete journey while troubleshooting.

Save to Photos did not work

Open iPhone Settings → Apps → PxlDay → Photos and allow PxlDay to add photos. PxlDay requests add-only access and does not read your library.

PNG and JPEG look different

PNG keeps open pixels and gaps transparent. JPEG fills them with the background selected in PxlDay Settings. Both formats preserve the Pxl Grid frame around open pixels.

Delete the entire journey

Open PxlDay → Journey → Settings → Delete journey. Read the warning and choose Delete journey forever. This cannot be undone. Export the journey first if you want an independent copy.
